Jamie Whincup is the 2009 V8 Supercar Champion and a three-time winner of the iconic Australian endurance race, the Bathurst 1000. His rise to the pinnacle of the world’s most challenging touring car class has been meteoric. He has won 18 championship rounds and claimed 9 pole positions. His win streak on the way to claiming the 2008 title has been labelled as the most dominant performance by a V8 Supercar driver. Whincup is also respected by his peers, fans, sponsors and the media, having won the Barry Sheene Medal – the sport’s ‘Best and Fairest’ award – for the past two seasons.
