Technician Roles Available:

Spray Painter / Gel Coat Applicator
Gel coat application is one of the most important steps in making any Malibu or Axis boat & it takes a team of meticulous applicators to create the perfect finish. Key components of this work include:
Spraying/application of gel coat product to boat hull and deck moulds
Line and panel taping of boat moulds
Cleaning and waxing of boat moulds
To be successful you will have:
previous spray-painting experience (automotive painting experience a plus)
an eye for detail and pride yourself on producing high quality work
Laminator / Fibreglass Technician
Fibreglass Lamination is an important process in the initial stages of boatbuilding. It takes a team of meticulous applicators to get the finish just right. The lamination roles involve the spraying/application of lamination resins and fibreglass into boat molds, along with the setting of structural boat components into base hulls and decks.
To be successful you will need to have an eye for detail and like working in a team.
Upholsterer / Interior Assembly
This work involves the fitting of our custom-made vinyl outer layers ('skins') to various cushion, dash and interior panel components.
To be successful in this role you will:
have an eye for detail and a focus on quality
be able to use hand and power tools
have good hand-eye co-ordination
Interior / Structural Technician
In this role you will be using specialised machinery and tools to make the internal structures and panelling of the boats, such as the frameworks and housings for seating, engines and speakers.
To be successful in this role you will:
be able to use hand and power tools or have the aptitude to learn quickly
have good hand-eye co-ordination
Final Assembly
The roles in final assembly are involved in “putting the boats together”. Split into several workstations and utilising modern manufacturing practices, activities include mechanical fit-out and the installation of interiors and other finishing-touches.
Valued skills include:
Prior mechanical or assembly experience is useful
Experience in using hand and power tools is required (even on a hobby basis)
Good hand-eye co-ordination and an eye for detail

Malibu takes staff health and safety seriously and to work with us you must be willing to use the required PPE and operating procedures we have in place to look after you.
Physical Requirements
In general, the physical requirements required to perform duties may include:
Sanding, cutting with scissors and/or a razor knife, rolling, sweeping and cleaning duties, lifting and using electric hand tools, standing and walking for extended periods, grasping and pulling/pushing.
Physical Requirements will depend on the role being undertaken.
